The Dreaded Synopsis

Posted on 22nd May 2011 in Books

I have to redo my synopsis because I think it does not address the information Agents want. Unfortunately my story is told over three novels and I am telling them about only one. So I concentrated upon themes, adversity, and  growth when I am wondering if  perhaps I should have been a bit more nuts and bolts. So I plagued Tom once again, as my mentor he tolerates all my crazy, and once again he gave me some insight. Tom has seen me through about five years of inarticulate ramblings and because of him I managed to finish the first leg of the Vampiris series. It is only the first leg as one of the characters has decided to become a breakout and get his own story. Then there is the resolution of all the romances/battle/power struggles. In between that there are the other projects nipping at my heels so my next five years will be  pretty full. Instead of working I am complaining here because for some reason I just can’t face yet another synopsis, another query, another full edit. Between the time I thought I had finished the book and now I think it have been over it another 30 times. Ahh –the bête noire of grammar and style. Wish I had a kilo of chocolate.
