I keep forgetting that I’m almost 40 years old, and I keep getting sucked into these ‘tweenage’ movies because I am attracted to all things magical and I love the special effects. But then, they get going with the post-pubescent romance and I absolutely cringe. Now I know what my mother was feeling when I forced her to go to see all those Christian Slater and Judd Nelson movies…

I have never been a fan of Tom Cruise- I find that Hollywood has tried so darn hard to cast him as the leading action man when this just isn’t his ‘shtick’. I can’t see him in anything more than his underwear since Risky Business. Then, after his ‘epileptic fit’ on Oprah a few years ago, and now add the Church of Scientology into that strange brew, how on earth can you take this man’s acting seriously?! JMO

When I am writing, I always have my husband read the script. He is hypercritical to the point of exasperation. I now have at least 4 unfinished books that I’ve dropped half way through because I either got tired of the characters, or realized my story was just very boring. One day I may pick them up again, or find someone willing to buy a half finished manuscript of ‘Running from Terry’, my love affair with a no so rehabilitated heroine addict….apparently I was the only one interested in that story .

Persistance.You are clearly a very articulate, thoughful and and imaginitive writer. So what are you doing wrong? Stop banging your head against the wall- what you’re currently doing is not working so reassess and try a different approach. Have you asked your potential editors/publishers to tell you what they don’t like about your writing? Are you submitting to the write genre of publishers? Can you get endorsed by another more well known writter? Send your manuscript to Anne Rice instead of a publisher.. couldn’t hurt! JMO. Other than by blog, I am unpublished so I shoudn’t be handing out advice..lol.

I’m not a germ-o-phobe, but I do know that money is the dirtiest substance we come into contact with daily. I am acutely aware of interact pin pads, elevator buttons, hand railings and door handles. That is why I carry hand sanitizer with me. Eftpos is convenient as it offers another mechanism to exchange funds but it is certainly not a substitute for personal hygiene because people are too lazy to wash their hands. Those people deserve to get sick… no sympathy from me.
